The 2026 Palo Verde Amateur will be held May 27-28 at Grand Canyon University Golf Course in Phoenix. The Palo Verde Am will be a World Amateur Golf Rankings event. The Palo Verde Am will be 54-holes with no cut (weather permitting). Included in the $525 entry fee is all three rounds of the tournament as well as the practice round on Tuesday, May 26. The Palo Verde Am is an open event. All players are required to be active members of the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series in order to participate. Event Criteria: A player is exempt if he meets one of the entry criteria below and submits a complete application (with payment) by May 18, 2026. This is an Open Amateur tournament and the player must have a handicap index of 3.0 or better. Any player who meets any of the standardized criteria below may enter the Palo Verde Amateur. All players must be active members of the Saguaro Amateur Series.
- Top 250 in closest ranking to the final 2025-26 Men’s Golfweek Collegiate Rankings or Clippd Rankings (DIVISION I ONLY)
- Top 1000 players in World Amateur Golf Rankings
- Top 1000 players in Golfweek Amateur Rankings
- All 2025 champions of major men’s state amateur and mid-amateur championships
- All participants in the men’s 2025 US Mid-Amateur, USGA Four-Ball, and US Amateur Championships
- All male amateur golfers with a handicap of 3.0 or below
- Must be an active member of the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series: MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION

- Wednesday, May 27: Rounds 1 and 2–7:00 am shotgun 36 holes continuous play-box lunch included in entry fee
- Thursday, May 28: Final round starts at 7:00–am shotgun
Practice Round: Players make their own starting times directly with GCU. Please call the GCU pro shop and identify yourself as a participant in the Palo Verde Amateur to book your practice round starting time. The practice round is included in your entry fee. 623-846-4022
Host Hotel: No host hotel
- Transportation: All participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event. Phoenix International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from the course. Plan all departure flights accordingly as no changes will be made to starting times for flights.
- SPECTATOR CARTS: Spectator carts may or may not be available and this is the sole discretion of GCU Golf Course
Carts: Players may rent a cart (additional cost) for the practice round. All players will be provided carts for the 36 hole day. Players will walk the final round.
Conduct and Attire: Golf spike policy of GCU Golf Club is in effect at the time of the championship. Proper golf attire is required. Golf shirt must have a collar and either pants or golf shorts are required. All headwear must be worn forward. Any act of unsportsmanlike conduct-including but not limited to: cursing, throwing clubs, damage to the golf course, not raking bunkers, or other are prohibited. Disqualification with no refund is possible at the sole discretion of the tournament committee.

Pace of Play: We ask that the first two players who hole out proceed immediately to the next tee and hit when ready. Walk ahead and save time when possible. In the practice round, no more than one ball should be played to the green. Play as fast as possible.
Withdrawals and Refunds: All paid entries are subject to a $125 handling fee at all times and for any reason. Refunds minus $125 are available up until May 18, 2026, when there are no refunds for withdrawal or no show for any reason.
Waiting List: When the field becomes full we will start a waiting list. You are not charged a fee to be on the waiting list.
Competition Waiver: I wish to enter the 2026 Palo Verde Amateur. Please charge my credit card and process my entry fee payment of $525. The entry fee includes the four rounds of golf for the tournament, participant cart, player gift, and all practice facility usage during those days before and after the round. I understand $125 of my entry fee is non-refundable at all times. Refunds (minus $125) will be given by proper written request to the tournament chairman by May 18, 2026. I understand my entry fee is non-refundable after May 18, 2026. I hereby agree to waive all claims against the Saguaro Amateur, the Palo Verde Amateur, the tournament staff, GCU GC, for personal injury or death as a result of any acts by the Saguaro Amateur or Palo Verde Amateur in relation to the conduct of the tournament. By entering this Troon Saguaro Amateur Series-administered event, all participants agree that there are certain risks and accept personal and sole liability for all such risks, including, but not limited to, any health-related risks. Participants acknowledge and accept responsibility for maintaining their own personal safety, including but not limited to, utilizing their own PPE, practicing social distancing, and sanitizing themselves if they contact people or surfaces. All participants understand there is currently a risk of contracting COVID-19 at any Troon Saguaro Amateur Series-administered event and accept sole liability for that risk. I certify I meet the entry criteria.
